Gurudwara Sri Patshahi Chevin ate Nauvin Sahib, is situated in the Village karhali, ditt Patiala. It is situated near dakala. In july' 1673, Sri Guru HarGobind Sahib ji while going towards Delhi with his 100 horse riders stopped in karhali where a person named as sanmukh used to live. He was infected with serious communicable disease because of which he was forced to live outside his own Village. No one likes to meet him and generally used to avoid him. Even his daily needs like food and all was given to him on and off by few saint people in the Village. He used to live alone in his small hut as everyone had fear that even they will get infected with his disease. While living there in his hut all his life he used to meditate a lot and generally was found chanting "waheGuru" all the time. He used to pray to his deity Guru Nanak Dev ji that either take his life or cure his disease completely. Guru Har Gobind Sahib ji went to his hut and called sanmukh saying "hey gurmukh, your pray has reached your deity and has granted you what you always asked for. So get up and take a bath in this pond. All your diseases will get cured and you will be normal person as everyone". Sanmukh on listening all this got confused and starting thinking what to do. So Guru Sahib called him again and said "from now holy water from 18 sacred places is getting into this pond from patalpuri" on this sanmukh jumped into the pond and soon all his diseases were gone. After this he along with the Villagers fell in the feet of Guru Sahib. After seeing all this Guru Sahib blessed that "whosoever will take bath in this pond for 5 sundays or for 5 panchmiyan, his 18 types of diseases will be cured by the blessing of all mighty. And after some time this place will be one of the sacred places. While going to Delhi, Sri Guru teg Bahadur Sahib also visited this place. While living outside the village in his hut, which has now become Gurdwara Sri Guru Arjan Sahib Ate Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Karhali, Bhai Surmukh would pray to meditate God and generally was found repeating 'Waheguru' very often. Bhai Surmukh would pray in Guru Nanak's name and ask for his life to end or to be cured of his disease. When Guru Hargobind, the sixth Nanak, arrived he went to Bhai Surmukh's hut and informed him he was there to help him. Guru Hargobind asked Bhai Surmukh to bathe in a nearby pond and this would cure him. Bhai Surmukh was confused, he didn't know what to do. Guru Hargobind urged him to follow his instructions, Guru Ji explained that there was holy water from other locations like Patalpuri that would also help him. Bhai Surmukh need to further prompting and jumped into the pond and soon all his diseases were gone.
