This Gurdwara is situated at a distance of 15 Km from Sirhind Railway Station and 20 Km North of Patiala on Sirhind-Patiala Road in Village Naulakha.
The Ninth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji blessed this place by his visit during his tour of Malwa region.
Gurdwara Sri Naulakha Sahib is situated in Naulakha village in the Fatehgarh Sahib district.
Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji travelled from Ugani, Naulakha, Jakhwali, Tehlpura, Aakar, Lang and Chalela during part of Guru Sahib's tour of the Malwa region.
Along with Guru Tegh Bahadur was Mata Gujri, Mata Nanaki, Mata Nanaki and other Sikhs.
While Guru Tegh Bahadur was here, a Sikh named Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara lost his ox. Bhai Lakhi Shah pledged he would offer some takkas to Guru Tegh Bahadur if he regained his ox.
Bhai Lakhi Shah found his ox in the jungle and arrived to meet Guru Tegh Bahadur offering nine takkas. Guru Tegh Bahadur forwarded the takkas to the Sangat without even touching them.
Bhai Lakhi Shah thought Guru Tegh Bahadur was dissatisfied with the offering, so said that he did not have enough money for an large offering, but would give more of the same amount.
Guru Tegh Bahadur responded that Bhai Lakhi Shah's nine takkas were equivalent to nine lakhs of takka (nau lakh). Later, more of the local Sangat came to see Guru Tegh Bahadur. After blessing them, Guru Tegh Bahadur asked the Sangat to establish a village here and name it 'Naulakha' ('nine lakh').
