It is said that a local farmer and labourer was tilling his fields on 12th August 1953 when his plough hit a piece of rock.

The farmer and the labourer went home and returned the following day with the local Sangat.

The spot where the plough had hit was found to be the resting place of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji.

With the generosity of the Sangat a Gurdwara Sahib was established.

The Gurdwara is located very near (south of) the GT Road.

Near Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Kottan is Sarai Lashkari Khan which is a historical inn built by mughal military general Lashkari Khan, in the reign of emperor Aurangzeb in 1667 AD.

A specimen of major structural types of mughal architecture, this is one of many carvanserais meant to be resting places along the old mughal highway connecting Agra, Delhi and Lahore.

These caravanserais played an important role in economic, cultural and political life but gradually fell in disuse with shifting routes and advent of railroads in the nineteenth century.

Many of these disappeared altogether due to modernization and urban expansion.

The historic inn, though, declared as a protected monument has largely been neglected and has been in a dilapidated condition.
